Fees
A one-time materials and registration fee secures your child’s place in class, pays for supplies such as crayons, glue, paper, etc., pays for their field trips and purchases a t-shirt to be worn on field trips. This fee is non-refundable. Students registering for classes starting in the fall of 2024, registration is $85 for the 2 day classes, $95 for the 3 day class and $105 for the 4 day class.
Tuition and Attendance
The first tuition payment is due no later than June 5th or at the time of registration if registering after June 1st. Subsequent payments are due by the 5th, beginning in September through April. Students may enroll at any time during the school year. Students enrolling after the 15th of the month will pay half a month’s tuition.
Attendance is by enrollment and tuition pre-payment only. Peace Christian Preschool is not available by the hour, day or week. No tuition refunds or credit for missed classes will be made, because of budget planning. We do make every effort to make up the first two missed days. Limited scholarship assistance may be available for the 2 day class.
Program Information
The philosophy of Peace Christian Preschool is described in our motto, “To play, to learn, to grow in the love of Jesus Christ.” Peace Christian Preschool provides supervised learning, play, and social opportunities with a Christian emphasis, for pre-kindergarten children. As a developmental preschool, we recognize that children share common characteristics as they grow physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. Each child is unique, expressing these characteristics on an individual time schedule. Our structure and activities respect this diversity. Activities, while teacher-planned, are child-initiated and demonstrate our belief that preschool children learn best through play. Preschool includes a mixture of large-group, small-group and individual activities, as well as vigorous and quiet activities, indoors and outdoors. Our curriculum includes daily devotions, language arts, social experiences, color awareness, number recognition, reading readiness, and arts and crafts, balanced by a variety of play activities.
Cancellation of classes due to adverse weather (e.g., snow days) will be the same as King George County Schools. Listen to WFLS (93.3 FM), WWUZ (96.9 FM), or WFPK (99.3 FM), or check www.fredericksburg.com for cancellation announcements. Any deviation from this plan will be announced by way of a telephone call to each student’s home by the teacher (e.g., KG County Schools closed due to no heat in buildings but Peace open). Two snow days will be allowed without make-up. The next two snow days will be made up for the 2 day classes and the next 4 snow days for the 4 day class, as scheduled by the teacher. Additional snow days will not be made up. If King George County Public Schools open two hours late, morning preschool classes will be cancelled and afternoon preschool classes will be held at their usual times.
Staff
Our teachers are required to have college degrees and have extensive experience with children. Additional classroom support is provided by adult teaching assistants.
In addition, our staff is required to be certified annually by a practicing physician, to be free from any disability which would prevent them from caring for children. Our staff, principal, secretary, substitute teachers, and Board of Directors have passed background checks by the Virginia State Police.
Snacks and Allergy Concerns
A small snack, such as cookies and fruit juice, is served to the children each day. Dairy products may be served. These snacks are supplied by the children’s families, in turn, on a voluntary basis.
Please note that we are a peanut-free and tree nut-free facility, and ask that all snacks provided comply with this policy to ensure the safety of all of our students.
